It’s Art Call – Art Prize
Production Lead & Co-founder, in collaboration with The Cult House 2016–2019 & 2022
The international contemporary art prize and exhibition known as "It's Art Call", which I co-founded and co-produced, was held in five consecutive editions at various major venues in London, including D Contemporary Gallery, After Nyne Gallery, and The Truman Brewery.
What started as a digital open call has developed into a complete physical exhibition programme, attracting more than 500 international applicants in each edition and involving a production team consisting of 3 to 4 people as well as a jury of 9.
I was involved in every stage of the prize process: I prepared the open call and the submission guidelines, coordinated the applications from artists all over the world, and together with others led the selection and judging process in order to highlight emerging and mid-career artists.
I also looked after the curatorial aspects, which included arranging the installation and deciding where the artworks were to be placed, as well as providing the interpretative context for both the group and solo exhibition winners, while serving as a judge in each edition.
In addition to the exhibitions, I organised a related programme of private viewings and artist talks, which gave each edition its full impact.
